Page understanding and edit rationale
AI Copilot for Confluence helps a reader explore a page through summaries, structured overviews, terminology extraction, and sentiment insights. A reviewer still needs to compare important decisions, dates, and action items with the source. Keep unresolved ownership and uncertainty visible rather than allowing an overview to create a decision that the page does not record.
Page Change Comments for Confluence serves a different purpose. It helps editors explain revisions and reviewers inspect gaps in change reasons. The listing describes policies scoped by space and page label, minimum comment length, version comparisons, and CSV exports. A recorded reason can support a governance review, while approvals and broader requirements remain part of the organization's process.
Start with a representative space
Choose a space whose owners can explain the documentation workflow. For AI assistance, test a straightforward page, a long decision record, and a document with unfamiliar terms. For change comments, test routine edits, meaningful revisions, and a version with a missing reason. Compare the result with the task the reader or reviewer needs to perform.
Use the current Marketplace listings to review installation and pricing, then verify the controls in the installed release. Confirm processing and access requirements before selecting restricted documentation for a trial. Do not assume a page-level feature includes every attachment, linked document, or approval record.
Keep the records useful as pages evolve
Assign ownership for the source page and any overview shared elsewhere. A summary can become outdated after the page changes, so label snapshots with their review context. A later change reason should preserve its timing and refer to the correct version. These distinctions help a future reader understand what the record represents.
Review common exceptions after the pilot. If action owners are often missing, improve the source convention. If reasons are frequently vague, provide examples of meaningful rationale. If an export lacks evidence the reviewer needs, define how the supporting page versions or decision records will be accessed. Each app works best within a clear, maintained process.
